Land Securities Group PLC - Transactions in Own Shares

Land Securities Group PLC (the 'Company') announces that on 18 July 2007 it
purchased  300,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 1720.4888 pence per
share. The purchased shares will be held as treasury shares. Following the above
purchase, Land Securities Group PLC holds 1,525,000 ordinary shares in treasury,
and has 470,121,686 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).

These purchases were made pursuant to the authority that was granted by
shareholders at the Annual General Meeting held on 17 July, 2007. Further
purchases may be made from time to time, subject to market conditions and the
Company's capital requirements.
