                  Invitation to Analyst and Investor Briefing



On 31 December 2007, Legal & General set out a summary of recent actions on the
balance sheet and announced the completion of the major structural elements of
its capital review.



In order to review the balance sheet actions taken so far in more detail, Legal
& General also announced a briefing for analysts and investors at 9.30am (GMT)
tomorrow, 10 January 2008. This will be held at our new head office at One
Coleman Street, London EC2R 5AA.



We also intend to take this timely opportunity to update the market on headline
new business figures for 2007. A release will be made at 7.00am on 10 January
2008 covering the headline figures. The usual detailed new business tables will
be made available on our website on the date previously scheduled for new
business figures, 24 January.
