Legal & General Group Employee Share Plan

In common with all eligible employees, each of the executive directors of Legal
& General Group Plc ('the Group') has been invited to apply for partnership
shares under the Legal & General Group Employee Share Plan ('the Plan') on a
monthly basis.  On 3 March 2008, each executive director chose to contribute to
purchase the following partnership shares:

The Group matched these shares, on a one-to-one basis, up to £20 per month.
Accordingly, each executive director, with the exception of J. B. Pollock,
received 16 matching shares; J. B. Pollock received 17 matching shares.  The
shares were purchased at a price of 122.9p per share.

Following these awards, the executive directors have beneficial interests in the
shares of the Group (comprising shares, shares held by trustees within share
schemes or plans and share options) as set out below:-

Manager chose to contribute to purchase the following partnership shares:

The Group matched these shares, on a one-to-one basis, up to £20 per month.
Accordingly, each Senior Manager, with the exception of M.J. Bolton and G.J.
Hoskin, received 16 matching shares, M.J. Bolton and G.J. Hoskin received 17
matching shares. Differences are due to rounding from previous allocations.  The
shares were purchased at a price of 122.9p per share.

Non Executive Directors' purchases

On 3 March 2008, the following non-executive directors of the Group purchased
the following ordinary shares of 2.5p each ('shares') in the Group at a price of
124p per share.
