Legal & General Group Plc ('the Company') - Director Shareholding

Legal & General has been advised that Jane Palmer, wife of Andrew Palmer, an
executive director of the Company, has sold 929,474 Ordinary shares of 2.5p each
in the Company at a price of 133p per share.  Following this transaction, Andrew
Palmer's current beneficial interest in the Company stands at 1,170,986 Ordinary
shares.
