Legal & General Group Plc ('Group') has today been informed that, as a result of
an ISA reinvestment, the following ordinary shares of 2.5p each in the Group
were purchased on 27 September 2002 at a price of 91.5p per share on behalf of
the following director and his spouse:

G. J. Hoskin: 498

V. Hoskin: 498

Following this reinvestment, Mr. Hoskin's current beneficial holdings in the
Group now stand at: 333,401.
