                     Resignation of Non-Executive Director





Legal & General Group Plc ('Group') announces that Tim Parker has today resigned
as a Non-Executive Director.



Commenting on the resignation, Rob Margetts, the Chairman of the Group said. 'We
are sorry to lose an able and participative Non-Executive director but recognize
and agree with Tim's view that his proposed new role as the Chief Executive of
the AA would lead to conflicts of interest which he wishes to avoid. We wish Tim
well in his new challenge.'
