Legal & General Group Plc (the "Company") announces that Lindsay Tomlinson has advised the Board that he intends to retire from the Board as a non-executive director following the conclusion of the AGM on 21 May 2015. Lindsay will remain as a non-executive director of Legal & General Investment Management (Holdings) Limited, the Company's investment management business.

Rudy Markham, the Company's current SID and Vice Chairman, will succeed Lindsay as Chair of the Group Risk Committee and Stuart Popham, who joined the Board in 2011, will assume the Chair of the Group Remuneration Committee.

John Stewart, Chairman of Legal & General, said:
