Purchase of Shares for the Legal & General Employees' Share Ownership Trust

Legal & General Group Plc announces that on 24 June 2008, the trustees of the Legal & General Employees' Share Ownership Trust (ESOT) have purchased 1,000,000 Ordinary shares of 2.5p each. The price paid was 105p per share.

These shares were acquired to satisfy needs arising under existing employee share schemes in which employees and executive directors participate.
