The Company announces that the trustees of the Legal & General Employees Share
Ownership Trust (ESOP) have made the following purchases of Legal & General
Ordinary shares of 2.5p each:

These shares were acquired to satisfy needs arising under existing employee
share schemes in which employees and executive directors participate
