                              Total Voting Rights



Legal & General Group Plc ('Group') announces, in compliance with its
obligations under Rules 5.6.1 and 5.6.2 of the Disclosure and Transparency
Rules, that:


As at 29 February 2008:


  • Group's capital consists of 6,147,658,543 Ordinary shares of 2.5p each,
    with voting rights.

  • Group does not hold any shares in Treasury.

  • Therefore, the total number of voting rights in Group is 6,147,658,543.

Prior to the date of this announcement the Group purchased a further 7,052,669
shares for cancellation which will cease to have voting rights in due course.

The above figure of 6,147,658,543 may be used by shareholders as the denominator
for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify
their interest in, or a change of their interest in, Group under the FSA' s
Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
