Legal & General Group Plc announces that on 31 July 2008 it purchased for cancellation 2,034,587 Ordinary shares of 2.5p each through UBS. The highest price paid was 98.90p per share and the lowest price paid was 95.70p per share. The purchase was made in accordance with the irrevocable instruction given to UBS prior to, and announced by Legal & General Group Plc, on 30 June 2008.
