Legal & General Group Plc announces that on 8 July 2008 it purchased for cancellation 1,844,737 Ordinary shares of 2.5p each through UBS. The highest price paid was 96.45p per share and the lowest price paid was 93.15p per share. The purchase was made in accordance with the irrevocable instruction given to UBS prior to, and announced by Legal & General Group Plc, on 30 June 2008.
