THE LINDSELL TRAIN INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

The Lindsell Train Investment Trust plc ('Company') is delighted to announce the
appointment of Mr Michael Lindsell as a non-executive non-independent Director
of the Company with effect from 13 July 2006.  Mr Lindsell is a Director of
Lindsell Train Limited, the investment manager of the Company.

He was previously a Director of the Company between its launch in 2001 and 31
March 2005, when he resigned to prevent the Company from breaching the new
requirements in relation to Board composition under the Revised Listing Rules.

The Company confirms that there are no matters under LR9.6.13R(2) to LR9.6.13R
(6) to report in respect of Mr Lindsell.
