Liontrust Asset management plc ('the Company') has been notified on 26 June 2003
of dealing in the Company's ordinary shares as follows:

On 26 June 2003, Nigel Legge sold 375,432 ordinary shares at 417.5p per share,
being 1.07% of the issued share capital of the Company.

William Carey, Nigel Legge and Andrew Yates, directors of the Company, are
participants in the Company's Employee Share Ownership Plan (the 'ESOP') and on
30 May and 25 June 2003 were allocated 95 ordinary shares each at a price of
393p per share and 91 ordinary shares each at a price of 414p per share
respectively.

Nigel Legge's total interest following this notification is 1,379,597 ordinary
shares or 4.00% of the total issued share capital of the Company.  William
Carey's total interest following this notification is 1,556,711 ordinary shares
or 4.46% of the total issued share capital of the Company.  Andrew Yates' total
interest following this notification is 482,137 ordinary shares or 1.38% of the
total issued share capital of the Company.

The Trustee of the Liontrust Asset Management Employee Trust notified the
Company that, under the Liontrust Enterprise Management Incentive Scheme, it
granted on 26 June 2003 options over ordinary shares in the Company to the
following executive directors:

W E S Carey - options over 23,066 ordinary shares of the Company with an
exercise price of 417.5p per share and an exercise period between 25 June 2006
and 25 June 2013.  The total number of ordinary shares over which options are
held by W E S Carey following this notification is 148,457.

N R Legge - options over 23,066 ordinary shares of the Company with an exercise
price of 417.5p per share and an exercise period between 25 June 2006 and 25
June 2013.  The total number of ordinary shares over which options are held by N
R Legge following this notification is 148,457.

J D Lang - options over 167,549 ordinary shares of the Company with an exercise
price of 417.5p per share and an exercise period between 25 June 2006 and 25
June 2013.  The total number of ordinary shares over which options are held by J
D Lang following this notification is 500,116.

W T Pattisson - options over 167,549 ordinary shares of the Company with an
exercise price of 417.5p per share and an exercise period between 25 June 2006
and 25 June 2013.  The total number of ordinary shares over which options are
held by W T Pattisson following this notification is 500,116.

A J V Yates - options over 18,994 ordinary shares of the Company with an
exercise price of 417.5p per share and an exercise period between 25 June 2006
and 25 June 2013.  The total number of ordinary shares over which options are
held by A J V Yates following this notification is 97,811

As the Liontrust Enterprise Management Incentive Scheme is for the benefit of
all employees, not just executive directors, a further 249,994 options over the
ordinary shares of the Company with an exercise price of 417.5p per share and an
exercise period between 25 June 2006 and 25 June 2013 were granted to other
employees on 26 June 2003.  In total, options were granted to all employees,
including directors, over 650,168 ordinary shares.

The Trustee of the Liontrust Asset Management Employee Trust notified the
Company on 26 June 2003 that it acquired in the market a total of 375,432
ordinary shares in the Company on 26 June 2003 at a price of 417.5p per share.
Following this transaction, the Trust held a total of 1,550,552 ordinary shares
in the Company in which the following directors had an interest as potential
beneficiaries as noted above: W E S Carey, N R Legge, J D Lang, W T Pattisson
and A J V Yates.  The Liontrust Asset Management Employee Trust is a trust,
which purchases or subscribes for ordinary shares in the Company, so as to allow
the Trustee to satisfy the exercise of options granted under the Liontrust
Enterprise Management Incentive Scheme.
