Liontrust Asset Management plc ('the Company') has been notified on 1 October
2003 of dealing in the Company's ordinary shares as follows:

William Carey, Nigel Legge and Andrew Yates, directors of the Company, are
participants in the Company's Employee Share Ownership Plan (the 'ESOP') and on
30 September 2003 were allocated 81 ordinary shares each at a price of 481p per
share.

William Carey's total interest following this notification is 1,557,073 ordinary
shares or 4.46% of the total issued share capital of the Company.  Nigel Legge's
total interest following this notification is 1,379,959 ordinary shares or 3.95%
of the total issued share capital of the Company.  Andrew Yates' total interest
following this notification is 482,535 ordinary shares or 1.38% of the total
issued share capital of the Company.
