LLOYDS TSB GROUP EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR UK RETAIL BANKING

Dennis Holt, Group Executive Director, UK Retail Banking, Lloyds TSB, has
decided to leave the Group to take up a new position. He will leave on 31
August 2001. The Board of Lloyds TSB thanks Dennis for his contribution to the
Group and wishes him success in his new role.

Lloyds TSB is in the process of selecting a replacement for Dennis and will
announce further details in due course.
