Longships is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Malcolm Burne as Executive Chairman of the Company. Mr. Burne will replace Mr. Craig Niven who is stepping down from the board.
Malcolm Alec Burne (Aged 66), commenced his career as an equity analyst and then later as a financial journalist for The Financial Times and Telegraph. He has controlled and managed fund management, venture capital and investment banking companies in Australia, Hong Kong and North America. Mr. Burne has been a Director of over 20 companies, many of which have been in the mineral resources and gold exploration fields. He is an experienced Director of resources companies in Australia, the UK and Canada and he was Executive Chairman of Ambrian Capital Plc, the natural resources investment bank, until 2007.
The board welcomes Mr. Burne's appointment and would like to thank Mr. Niven for his commitment to Longships over the last 2 years.
Mr. Burne currently holds 1,925,000 Ordinary Shares of 1 pence each in Longships which represents 8.34% of the Company's total voting rights. His holding is split between 225,000 shares which he holds directly and 1,700,000 shares which are held indirectly through his association with White Night Investments Limited.
