                     LONDON & ASSOCIATED PROPERTIES PLC:
                      APPOINTMENT OF NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE



London & Associated Properties PLC ('LAP'), the specialist retail property
investor, today announces that John Heller has been appointed Chief Executive
with immediate effect.


John, 35, joined the company, which owns £100m of shopping centre properties,
in 1991 and has since 1998 been an executive director.  He has a law degree
and an MBA.


Michael Heller, Chairman, said: 'the Board has given serious consideration to
the question of management succession over the past few years and I am pleased
to say voted unanimously to promote John to this position. Since becoming an
executive director he has played a key role in the expansion of the business.
I shall remain as Chairman.'
