Purchase of Own Securities

London Securities PLC announces that on 23 February 2001 it re-purchased 3,500
ordinary shares at 590p per share, on 26 February 2001 it repurchased 5,000
ordinary shares at 600p per share and on 27 February it re-purchased a further
5,000 ordinary shares at 600p per share.

These re-purchases, which are for cancellation, total in aggregate 0.09 per
cent of the then issued share capital of London Securities PLC.  Following
these re-purchases the issued share capital now amounts to 14,517,316 ordinary
shares.
