London Stock Exchange plc

An application has been made to the UK Listing Authority for block listings
totalling 2,800,000 Ordinary shares of 5 5/6p each in the Company to be admitted
to the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and admitted to trading on the
London Stock Exchange upon issuance. The shares will rank pari passu with the
existing ordinary shares of the Company.

The shares will be issued pursuant to the vesting of awards and exercise of
options granted under the following Employee Share and Option Schemes:

Scheme: The London Stock Exchange Long Term Incentive Plan 2004
No. of shares: 50,000

Scheme: The London Stock Exchange Initial Share Plan
No. of shares: 1,300,000

Scheme: The London Stock Exchange Annual Share Plan
No. of shares: 250,000

Scheme: The London Stock Exchange Executive Share Option Scheme
No. of shares: 500,000

Scheme: The London Stock Exchange SAYE Option Scheme
No. of shares: 700,000
