STOCK EXCHANGE NOTICE
RULE AND GUIDANCE AMENDMENTS
DOMESTIC EQUITY MARKET
RELEASE 3.1 - WORKED PRINCIPAL TRANSACTIONS AND PROTECTED PORTFOLIO
TRANSACTIONS
1. Stock Exchange Notice N24/00, issued on 26 April 2000, notified member
firms of the change to the timing of the closing auction period to be
introduced as part of release 3.1 of the Exchange's trading system
enhancements.
2. Member firms are advised that for the purposes of rule 4.73(a)(iii) the
end of normal market hours shall be the end of the closing auction process
including any price monitoring or market order extensions and random start
times.
3. In addition, the Exchange has amended rule 8.28(e), to clarify that
this rule does not apply where the portfolio includes order book securities.
4. Relevant changes to the rules and regulatory guide to SETS are attached
to this Notice and will be effective from 30 May 2000. Rule update pages for
insertion into rule books will be issued in due course.
