London Stock Exchange Plc
1 August 2001
EXTENSION OF SERVICES MANAGEMENT AGREEMENT
With effect from 1 August 2001, London Stock Exchange plc ('the Exchange') has
agreed an extension of its Services Management Agreement with Accenture plc
dated 11 October 1996 ('the Agreement') for a period of up to 5 years from 1
April 2002.
The Agreement, pursuant to which Accenture plc is the main facilities manager
for the Exchange's trading and information systems, continues to provide
flexibility for the Exchange in developing its markets and products in
accordance with its stated business strategy. The Agreement strengthens the
incentives on Accenture to maintain the 100% availability of market facing
systems that has been achieved over the last 12 months. This Agreement also
maintains the focus on managing operations in the most cost effective way
(building on savings achieved to date) and incorporates flexible notice
provisions exercisable by the Exchange. The net annual payment to Accenture
plc under the terms of the Agreement for the year ended 31st March 2001 was
£13.9 million.
