RULE 2.10 ANNOUNCEMENT

London Stock Exchange plc announces, in accordance with Rule 2.10 of the City
Code on Takeovers and Mergers, that subsequent to an issue of 65,104 ordinary
shares under the London Stock Exchange SAYE Scheme 2000, its issued share
capital as at 6 January 2006 comprises 254,663,162 ordinary shares of 55/6pence
each.
