LOOKERS PLC
COMPLETION OF NEW FRANCHISE OPERATING STRUCTURE
Lookers plc, a leading UK volume and specialist car retailer, announces the
conclusion of a major re-organisation exercise to improve its effectiveness as a
national motor retailer and to better position the company for further expansion
under a strong management team.
The new structure completes the process begun last year of re-organising Lookers
along car manufacturer franchise lines, rather than regionally, and removes the
operational divisions between the company's Northern Ireland and English
dealerships. This will deliver industry leading service consistently to
Lookers' customers across the UK.
A number of key appointments have been made at Operations and Franchise Director
level, responsible for franchise operations across the group nationally.
Andy Bruce, Operations Director, takes group responsibility for Chrysler Jeep,
Citroen, Lexus, MG Rover, Nissan, PAG, Peugeot, Renault, Toyota and Specialist
Cars.
Brian Schumacker, Operations Director, takes group responsibility for Audi,
Honda, Saab, Seat, Vauxhall, Volkswagen, group bodyshops, Unipart, and internet
and sub-prime finance operations.
Commenting, Ken Surgenor, Chief Executive, said: 'The new structure will create
a more effective national sales network, strengthen our relationships with our
car manufacturer partners and reinforce our role as one of the most successful
motor retail groups in the industry.'
