LOOKERS PLC 'LOOKERS'
At the Board Meeting held after the Annual General Meeting Lookers plc on
Thursday 9 May 2002 the following changes to the Board were approved.
The Board is pleased to announce a change in responsibilities to secure the
future development of Lookers. Mr Kenneth Surgenor, the Managing Director, is
promoted to become the Chief Executive of Lookers. Mr Frederick Maguire remains
as Executive Chairman concentrating on strategy, manufacturer relations and
corporate development at this time of change for the motor industry.
Mr Andrew Bruce (age 36) who is the Operations Director of Lookers' successful
Charles Hurst subsidiary in Northern Ireland joins the Board as an Executive
Director. Mr Bruce is a Bachelor of Arts and was UK Sales Director for Land
Rover until joining Charles Hurst.
Mr David Mace (age 47) a Director of GW Pharmaceuticals plc joins the Board as a
non-Executive Director. Mr Mace is a Bachelor of Science and has served as a
non-Executive Director of a number of companies. In 1987 he led a management
buy-out of Sea Life Centre (Holdings) Ltd from Norsk Hydro through to subsequent
merger and flotation in 1992 as Vardon plc. From 1992 to 1996. Mr Mace was a
Director of Vardon plc.
