'Mr Mark Kass, Director of Lookers plc, has retired from the Company and the 
Board with effect from 9 August 2002.

Mr Kass was the major shareholder in the Mark Kass Ltd group of motor 
dealerships which Lookers purchased in July 2000. The Mark Kass businesses have 
now been successfully integrated into the Lookers Group.

The Board thank him for his contribution and wish him well with the development 
of his future business interests.'
