                             RETIREMENT OF DIRECTOR


Lookers plc ('the Company') announces that Mr David John Blakeman has retired
from the Board of Directors and his position as Company Secretary from 2 January
2007. He became a Director in 1989 and the Board would like to thank him for his
valued contribution.


His duties as Company Secretary will be taken over by Stuart MacDonald who
joined the Company two years ago.
