Disposal of Vehicle Delivery Business
Lookers announces the disposal of Car & Commercial Deliveries Company Limited
and fellow subsidiary company C & C Land Limited for a total of £855,000 by
the sale of the total shareholdings held by Lookers Group in the capital of
both of the above companies.
The Group will, following repayment of an inter-group loan of £1,820,000 by
C&C Land, receive a total payment of £2,675,000.
The sale, which is for cash, approximates to net asset value.
The operating profit of the business of Car & Commercial Deliveries Company
Limited for the 15 month period to 31st December 1999 was £34,000. C & C Land
is a property holding company.
The disposal will allow the Group to concentrate on core activities.
There will be no material adverse effect on Group turnover or profitability.
The proceeds of the sale will be applied in reducing gearing and to provide
working capital for the progress of the business as a whole.
