Lookers plc ('the Company'')

The Company was informed on 4 July 2007 that, as at 3 July 2007, Barclays PLC 
('Barclays') has an interest in 28,536,402 ordinary shares of 5 pence each in
the Company, representing approximately 15.82% of the total voting rights over
the Company's issued share capital.

The above figure of 28,536,402 is inclusive of the 17,562,500 ordinary shares,
representing 9.74% of total voting rights over the Company's issued share
capital, held on behalf of Mr D.C.A Bramall (a non-executive director of the
Company) and his family trusts by Walbrook Trustees (Jersey) Ltd. Walbrook
Trustees (Jersey) Ltd is a subsidiary of Walbrook Group Limited which was
recently acquired by Barclays, as announced on 21 May 2007.
