NOTIFICATION OF MAJOR INTEREST IN SHARES

In accordance with the Disclosure Regulations, Lookers plc (the Company) hereby advises that it was informed on 2 December 2009, that following a transaction on 1 December 2009 Barclays PLC through the following legal entities held 27,778,995 ordinary shares of 5p each in the Company, representing approximately 7.24% of the Company's issued share capital: 

Gerrard Investment Management Ltd

Barclays Stockbrokers Ltd

Walbrook Trustees (Jersey) Ltd

All shares are voting shares, one vote one share and the issued share capital of the Company on 3 December 2009 was 383,527,608 ordinary shares of 5p each.
