                        NOTICE OF PRELIMINARY RESULTS


Lookers plc, a leading national operator in the UK's retail motor industry,
will be announcing their 2000 preliminary results on Wednesday 14th March
2001.


Lookers primarily deals in new and used quality cars and enjoys strong
partnerships with many brands including Rolls Royce, Bentley, Ferrari
Maserati, Land Rover, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, Lexus,
Audi, Volkswagen, Peugeot, Citroen, Vauxhall, MG Rover, Renault and Nissan.


An analyst briefing is being held at 09.30am on that day with a media briefing
at 11.30am.  Both of these meeting will be held at Hudson Sandler, 29 Cloth
Fair, London EC1A 7NN.
