Appointment of New Non-Executive Director

Lowland Investment Company plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Karl Sternberg as a non-executive director to the Board with effect from 1 January 2009.  

Mr Sternberg is a Director of JP Morgan Income & Growth Investment Trust Plc and Chief Investment Officer and Chairman of the Investment Committee of Oxford Investment Partners Limited (OXIP). Before establishing OXIP, he was Chief Investment Officer for Deutsche Asset Management (Europe and Asia Pacific), one of the largest fund management companies in Europe. 

Mr Sternberg is also a Trustee & Member of the Investment Committee of Whitbread Pension Fund Trustees Limited, and a Member of the Investment Committees of Christ Church & St Catherine's Colleges, Oxford.

In accordance with paragraphs 9.6.13 (1) to (6) of the Listing Rules, it is confirmed that there are no additional details to be disclosed in relation to Mr Sternberg.
