Directorate Changes

The board of directors of MP Evans (the "Board") announces that Derek Shaw, an independent non-executive director, is retiring from the Board on 31 January 2017.

The Group was introduced to Mr Shaw in 1984 when it invested in Colly Farms Cotton Limited, in which he and his family were founding shareholders and responsible for its substantial expansion. He was appointed a director of the Group's associate, Lendu Holdings PLC, in 1990, and of MP Evans in 2005. He has helped develop, expand and guide the Group's operations in the Australian agricultural sector from the time of its investment in cotton, as well as sheep and cereal farming, through to its substantial holding of beef-cattle assets. He represented the Group on the board of The North Australian Pastoral Company Pty Limited, helping direct and improve this integrated cattle operator that was successfully sold during 2016. During his tenure he provided consistent advice on optimising values, and returns, on the Group's Australian operations, including regular inspections of the properties. The Board is most grateful to him for his substantial contribution over many years.

The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Coulson as finance director with effect from 1 February 2017. Mr Coulson joined the Group as chief financial officer on 1 May 2016 with previous experience as an audit director of Deloitte LLP, including work on companies in the agricultural sector, and in their technical policy team.
