MAJEDIE INVESTMENTS PLC

The Company announces that a total of 119,222 options to subscribe for
Ordinary shares were awarded under the Company's Discretionary Share Option
Scheme at an exercise price of 283.5p per share on 23 November 2001.
Directors of the Company to whom options were awarded are as follows:

Following the award of the options set out above the Company was advised on 28
November 2001 that Capco Trust Corporation, the Trustee of the Majedie
Investments PLC Employee Incentive Trust, purchased on 27 November 2001
132,258 ordinary 10p shares in the Company (representing 0.25% of the
Company's issued ordinary share capital) at a price of 280p per share.

As a result of this transaction, the Majedie Investments PLC Employee
Incentive Trust now holds 301,409 ordinary 10p shares (representing 0.57% of
the Company's issued share capital).
