On 3rd July 2007 the following share transaction was completed by a PERSON
DISCHARGING MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITY. Man Group plc was informed of the
transaction on that date.

Christopher Smith:

Exercise of options under the Unapproved part of the Man Group Executive Share
Option Scheme 2001 over 97,350 ordinary shares at 1.540833 pence per share.

Following the above transaction Christopher Smith is deemed to be interested in
a total of 4,078,590 Man Group plc ordinary shares, representing approximately
0.21% of the Company's issued share capital.
