Notification is given pursuant to Chapter 16.13 of the Listing Rules, that on
13th December 1999 the security interest of the E D & F Man Group 1990
Employee Trust ('the Employee Trust') was reduced by 1,340,676 ordinary shares
(for nil consideration).  The Employee Trust now has a security interest over
2,841,138 ordinary shares.

Executive Directors of the company are deemed to be interested in the
3,212,738 shares held by the Employee Trust and the 2,841,138 shares over
which the Employee Trust holds a security interest.
