In connection with the above purchase, Mr Davis, has on 6th June 2001 been
awarded 51,546 matching shares under the Group's Performance Share Plan,
subject to certain criteria set out in the Plan Rules.

Mr Davis now holds awards in respect of 83,973 matching shares and 93,981
shares under the Performance Share Plan.  He also holds matching awards over
136,308 shares which were granted under the Group's Coinvestment Plan prior to
his appointment as a director.
