                           Purchase of Own Securities

Man Group plc announces that on 9 November 2006 it purchased for cancellation
1,125,000 of its ordinary shares at a price of 482.84 pence per ordinary share.

Since the start of the financial year on 1 April 2006, Man has repurchased
23,447,507 ordinary shares at a total cost of £95.5 million, giving an average
repurchase cost of 407.43 pence per ordinary share.
