                           Purchase of Own Securities


Man Group plc announces that on 14 July 2006 it purchased for cancellation
100,000 of its ordinary shares at a price of 2422.9 pence per ordinary share.


Since the start of the financial year on 1 April 2006, Man has repurchased
2,500,000 ordinary shares at a total cost of £58.9 million, giving an average
repurchase cost of £23.54 per ordinary share.
