                ANALYST/MEDIA SEMINAR - INSIGHT INTO UK RETAIL

At a seminar to be held today for institutions and analysts, Roger Holmes
(Managing Director, UK Retail), Alison Reed (Group Finance Director) and the
UK Retail team will update investors on the UK Retail recovery plan. Subjects
to be covered will include restoring clothing performance, exploiting growth
opportunities and progress with the store renewal programme.

A separate seminar, covering the same subjects, is being hosted by Roger
Holmes for the Media.
