NOTIFICATION OF DIRECTOR'S INTERESTS

On 20 September 2000, David Ronald Norgrove was granted 223,254 shares under the
Company's Executive Share Option Scheme at an option price of 215p per ordinary
share.  The options, which are exercisable between 3 and 10 years from the date
of grant, are subject to performance criteria on exercise.

The option has been granted under the rules of the 2000 Executive Share Option
Scheme which was approved at this year's Annual General meeting held on 19 July
2000.

Mr Norgrove holds 491,901 shares under option following this notification.
