AGM STATEMENT

At the Annual General Meeting today, 24 May 2006, Mr Graham Holden, Chief
Executive of Marshalls plc, the specialist Landscape Products Group, will
provide shareholders with the following update on trading:

'Revenue from continuing operations, on a like for like basis, for the first
four months of 2006 was 3 per cent ahead of the previous year. Total revenue,
including acquisitions, was 5 per cent ahead.

In the Domestic market, installer order books are currently at 9.5 weeks which
is identical to the same time last year.'

On 7 July 2006 the usual half year trading update will be issued prior to the
announcement of Interim Results on 8 September 2006.
