                                 AGM STATEMENT

At the Annual General Meeting today, 16 May 2007, Mr Graham Holden, Chief
Executive of Marshalls plc, the specialist Landscape Products Group, will
provide shareholders with the following update on trading:

'Revenue from continuing operations, on a like for like basis, for the first
four months of 2007 was 5 per cent ahead of the previous year. Total revenue,
including acquisitions, was 8 per cent ahead.

In the Domestic market, installer order books are currently at 9.7 weeks
compared with 9.5 weeks at the same time last year.

The Royal Horticultural Society's Chelsea Flower Show takes place next week.
Marshalls' three year sponsorship of this prestigious world renowned show will
clearly position and reinforce the Marshalls brand. At Chelsea we will be
launching our new national garden design and installation service which will
continue to increase demand for the Group's products and build brand
recognition.

On 6 July 2007 the usual half year trading update will be issued prior to the
announcement of interim results on 7 September 2007.'
