Further to the recent announcement of the appointment of Mr M A Stacey as a
Non-Executive Director of Marshalls Plc, it is confirmed that this appointment
is with effect from 1st January 2000.  In accordance with the information
required under paragraph 16.4 of The London Stock Exchange Listing Rules, Mr
Stacey's other directorships are Meggitt Plc, Sidlaw Group Plc, Vitec Group
Plc, The Society of British Aerospace Companies Limited, Dorset Chamber of
