The separate class meeting of the 10% Cumulative Preference Shareholders of
Marshalls Plc due to be held yesterday to propose authorisation of the buy
back of ordinary shares in Marshalls Plc as set out in the circular to
shareholders dated 18th April 2001, was adjourned by the Chairman of the
Meeting in the absence of a quorum.  The class meeting has been reconvened for
3.00pm on Tuesday 22nd May 2001 at Birkby Grange,Birkby Hall Road, Birkby,
Huddersfield HD2 2YA.
