                     Appointment of Non-Executive Director

The Board of Marston's PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Neil
Goulden as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 31 March
2008.

Neil is Chief Executive of The Gala Coral Group which he joined in 2000 before
assuming his current role in 2004.  He was formerly Chief Executive of Allied
Leisure plc (1995 - 2000), prior to which he held senior positions at Compass
Group and Ladbrokes.

Neil is currently Chairman of Business In Sport and Leisure, Chairman of the
South Central NHS Ambulance Trust and a member of the Low Pay Commission.  There
is no other information which requires disclosure under the Listing Rules (LR
9.6.13) concerning Neil's appointment.
