Martin Currie Portfolio Investment Trust plc (the "Company")

Change of name to Martin Currie Global Portfolio Trust plc

At the Company's AGM on 23 May shareholders passed the resolution to complete the evolution of the Company to a truly global equity investment trust.   To reflect the new mandate the Board has renamed the Company Martin Currie Global Portfolio Trust plc.

Your Board believes the new name more clearly reflects the Company's investment remit.  The change will take effect from 1 September 2011.

Shareholders should note that the Company's ticker code "MNP" and ISIN will both remain unchanged.
