Appointment of a new non-executive director
The board of Martin Currie Portfolio Investment Trust plc is pleased to announce
the appointment of Michael Balfour as a non-executive director of the company,
with effect from 28 January 2010. Michael has also been appointed as Chair of
the audit committee.
Michael Balfour is Chief Investment Officer at Thomas Miller Investment, the
investment management subsidiary of Thomas Miller, an insurance services company
that manages a number of insurance companies. Prior to this Michael was Chief
Executive at Glasgow Investment Managers and Chief Investment Officer of
Edinburgh Fund Managers.
Michael is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.
The company confirms that there are no further matters to be disclosed pursuant
to paragraph 9.6.11 to 9.6.14 of the Listing Rules.
