Martin  Currie Portfolio Investment Trust plc, on 27 November 2008, bought  back
140,000  ordinary  shares  at  a  price of  87.6786p  per  share  for  immediate
cancellation.

Following this purchase 134,932,877 ordinary shares remain in issue.
