Martin  Currie Portfolio Investment Trust plc, on 30 November 2009, bought  back
28,000  ordinary  shares  at  a  price  of 111.4198p  per  share  for  immediate
cancellation.

Following this purchase 118,203,797 ordinary shares remain in issue.
